Méribel, the charm of Savoyard villages

An exceptional ski resort in the middle of the 3 Valleys, Méribel transports visitors into the intimacy of Savoyard villages, with its wooden chalets and architecture respectful of the exceptional nature of the Alps.

While it’s true that each ski resort in the 3 Vallées has its own identity, there’s no doubt that Méribel is one of the most beautiful ski resorts in the Alps. Here, tourism has developed in harmony with the valley’s traditional villages and hamlets and its unspoilt natural mountain landscapes: spruce and stone pine forests, the Tuéda nature reserve and lake, majestically surrounded by the limestone rocks of the Dent de Burgin and Mont-Vallon, which rises to almost 3,000 meters. Pedestrian itineraries, cross-country skiing, snowshoe outings, ski touring or downhill skiing, the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps are yours, at Méribel, in the heart of the 3 Valleys.

Méribel – The resort

A special feature of Meribel is its architecture, which consists of a series of chalets with stone and wood facades. No unsightly buildings on the horizon, just chalets and perfectly integrated residences in the resort’s four main districts: Les Allues (1100 m), Meribel Centre (1400 m), Meribel Village (1400 m) and Meribel Mottaret (1700 m).

  • Les Allues: The main town in the Méribel valley, Les Allues is a true Savoyard village, with its bread oven, old barns and narrow streets. It is linked to the Méribel ski area by the Olympe gondola, 500m from the village center, or by the free shuttle bus to the center.
Méribel Village: Small, traditional Savoyard hamlet with renovated chalets and barns, chapel and bread oven.
From the village center, the Golf chairlift takes you to the Altiport district, with its wide slopes and beginners’ ski areas.
  • Méribel Centre: This is the largest village in the Valley. Dotted with beautiful private chalets and medium-sized chalet-residences clad in blond wood and local stone, with double-sloped roofs.
  • Méribel Mottaret: Located at the top of the Méribel valley, the village of Méribel Mottaret offers privileged access to the 600 km of ski slopes of the 3 Vallées.

Located in the heart of the 3 Valleys, Méribel boasts a privileged location offering access to a wide variety of winter sports thanks to its ski area, the largest in the world, with a high-performance lift system.
